As you may know, I am extremely excited for Marvel’s “Guardians Of The Galaxy” coming up in just a few weeks. The trailers have been absolutely fantastic and it just looked like such a fun and unique movie from the studio. Not to mention that it’s also the movie that directly leads us into “Avengers: Age Of Ultron.” So yesterday, I attended a sneak peek event where I saw 17 minutes of the film in IMAX 3D. I was super excited to get more of a glimpse at what I will be seeing come July 31. After having seen the footage, words cannot describe how much higher my anticipation is for this film. It looks insanely good! Just a fair warning that this post will contain spoilers on what I saw, so be warned before continuing to read. Continue reading
After the awesomeness known as June 2014, I have high hopes for the month of July. There are several movies opening that I think have potential to be highlights of the summer or maybe even the year. Let’s go into what’s coming out.
“Earth to Echo” – Based on the trailers and even the poster, this looks like a lazy ripoff of films like E.T. and The Goonies. I might give the movie a chance, but I feel like “Super 8” already did the job that this film’s trying to accomplish.
“Tammy” – I’m not a Melissa McCarthy fan, so I don’t plan on seeing this movie at all. I feel like I have nothing else to say about this, so let’s just move on. Continue reading
Marvel has released a new international trailer for “Guardians of the Galaxy.” You can watch the trailer down below:
Today on his Facebook page, director James Gunn made a post talking about his experience with the IMAX 3D conversion of Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.” Here’s what he had to say:
Just got out of working on the Guardians cut for IMAX 3D and I’m unbelievably excited about it. “Guardians of the Galaxy” has been planned as a 3D film from its very inception. Yes, if you see the film in 2D, you’ll get a full experience. But the 3D experience promises a little something extra. Unlike many directors, I’ve been actively involved with converting every shot to 3D, making sure it works perfectly for the story and the film, making sure it’s spectacular and immersive without being silly, distracting, or overly showy. 3D conversion was once far inferior to shooting in 3D, but over the past couple years new technology has allowed us incredible control over the 3D effects, making it equal to or in some cases greater than shooting in 3D. Latino-Review just broke news that actor Josh Brolin (“No Country for Old Men”) has been cast to play Thanos (the purple dude during the credits of “The Avengers”) in Marvel’s upcoming films, “Guardians of the Galaxy” and “Avengers: Age of Ultron.” At first, I didn’t believe the news because Latino-Review has proven to be hit or miss when it comes to their breaking news stories.
